Research Assistant and Master’s Student, Soochow University. Pan Zhou is based in China and is a research assistant and first-year master’s student in Landscape Architecture at Soochow University. His work explores the intersection of cultural heritage and climate change, with a particular focus on climate risk assessment and early warning for heritage sites. His research examines how climate-related hazards affect heritage landscapes and how adaptive responses can be developed to support their long-term resilience. With a background in landscape architecture, he is especially interested in translating research into practice through climate-adaptive planning, design, and ecological restoration, in order to promote more resilient and sustainable approaches to heritage conservation. Through his participation in Preserving Legacies, Pan Zhou hopes to connect with custodians and practitioners from diverse contexts, learn from their experiences, and contribute to ongoing conversations on heritage adaptation and resilience. He looks forward to exchanging ideas with others in the circle and deepening his understanding of how heritage can be protected in a changing climate.
