Site Engineer / Battir Municipality. My name is Mohammad Harbook, and I am a Project Manager at the Battir Municipality, where I have been working since 2020. In this role, I lead and supervise engineering and development projects within the village of Battir, a site recognized as the Battir Cultural Landscape. Working in a UNESCO World Heritage Site has given me the responsibility and privilege of contributing directly to the preservation of cultural and natural heritage. I have been actively involved in implementing several conservation projects, including the rehabilitation of traditional agricultural terraces and the restoration of historic stone structures. Through specialized training programs supported by UNESCO, I have developed technical expertise in dry-stone construction and heritage restoration, ensuring that all interventions meet international conservation standards. In addition to my engineering work, I am a committed environmental volunteer at the local eco-museum, where I contribute to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness within the community. I also play an active role in international coordination, representing the municipality in various forums and partnerships, and fostering collaboration with global organizations. My work is driven by a deep commitment to protecting cultural landscapes and empowering communities. I am passionate about sharing knowledge, strengthening local capacities, and contributing to global efforts that safeguard heritage for future generations.
